Ms. Liz Whitney Tippett

A very progressive woman in the industry, a trail blazer, and a lover of horses, pictured here is Ms. Liz Whitney Tippett.  A socialite who got interested in the business through her marriage to Jock Whitney she wasn't content to just be a horse wife, so she opened her own stables and training center on her Llangollen property in Virginia.  A successful horse woman in her own right through the late 70's, she was also a philanthropist and patron of the arts.  This photo is another one from the exhibit that shows a classic lady at the races for the day.
